Seismic Evaluations

Over the past 40 years, Ehlen Spiess & Haight, Inc. has been involved in the seismic evaluation of building structures. The types of buildings evaluated have ranged from one-story wood frame to six-story cast-in-place concrete structures. The evaluations include a detailed seismic analysis of the building utilizing static, and/or dynamic analysis procedures, identifying critical elements and potential falling hazards. In performing these evaluations, we have utilized current methodologies including the NEHRP Handbook for the Seismic Evaluation of Existing Buildings, which is the basis for the evaluation of acute care hospital buildings mandated by Senate Bill 1953.
